Game 1 Los Angeles Dodgers 2017 World Series

Justin Turner hit a home run in the NLCS that left fans gasping for air. But what he did in game one of the 2017 World Series was magical. As a Dodger fan it was on the level of Kirk Gibson’s home run. Although it wasn’t in the 9th inning it still was a clutch, game winning home run.

I don’t know what’s going to happen from here on out. In 1988 it seemed as though after the big game one win, the Dodgers finished it. I hope the 2017 Dodgers do the same. Listening to Turner after the game, I’m also thankful for Turner. He led the World Series off with a home run. Similar to Steve Sax. I had an experience with Sax but Turner is next level person compared to Sax.

I didnt remember the Sax home run. I think I blocked it out, because my personal experience with him was negative.I won’t ever forget the Taylor home run but as a 12 year old maybe i was fixated on the Kirk Gibson home run. I’m sure I remembered it in some ways but when I see how many home runs are hit to lead off the World Series? I think it’s 23 times there was a leadoff home run. That’s incredible. Still, Taylor started it all off and gained momentum.

My entire night was brought to you by Justin Turner. I really and honestly can’t believe how clutch Justin Turner has been. Absolutely phenomenal. The Dodgers still need to win three more games. But, if they can continue the intensity? I’m in! It’s incredible what these guys are accomplishing.

Win one For Tommy and Vin

Major League playoffs are about to get real. Dodgers have not been to the World Series since 1988. Getting to the World Series again is a feat in itself. But, I hope the Dodgers don’t stop there. I hope they win for Tommy Lasorda and Vin Scully. The fact that both are still with us is a feat in itself. We’re talking about a combined age of 179! Both of these gentlemen love the Dodgers and deserve a championship.

It probably won’t be easy. It’s taken 29 years to get here. For the Astros they were here in 2005 while they were in the National League. But, they haven’t won a World Series in their history. Which I believe is more than 50 years. If they win I can’t be a hater. That’s a long time to wait for a championship. They also have many great fans. It would take me an unforeseen amount of time to accept the fact. But, once I did I promise I wouldn’t be bitter.

Do I think that will happen? No! I believe the Dodgers are the best team in the majors. In my opinion this is the best Dodger team I have ever seen. I remember the great team of the early 80’s. But, only the end of that era. This team from starting pitching to the closer and starting lineup to the bench are deep and complete. Kershaw to Wood and Maeda to Jansen, I’m confident in this team.

I may end up disappointed in the end. But, that’s because nothing is guaranteed. I need to appreciate the journey and enjoy the show. Instead of expecting too much and stressing the outcome. I’ll be thankful for the experience. I probably won’t be here in 29 more years. So, I guarantee you I’ll be embracing the moment and realizing my Dodgers may never get here again.

Just Make It

They just have to make it

The Dodgers haven't been to a World Series since 1988. They won that one. My expectations have been tempered and also tested since then. Even earlier this season it was win a world series or bust. Now, i just want to make it. The remaining teams are all formidable. Although i dont believe were the best team? Well, I do. But, not by metrics.Never know whats going to happen. Not even a world series appearance since 1988? 1988 was so magical, why the drought since?

I’m not Nostradamus. Why should i pretend to be. I wasnt even smart enough to know that i was lucky to be lucky. Watching NBA,MLB,NFL championships was common. I think i took it for granted. Then, I went through a drought. Still, going through a drought. Only the Lakers have won anything. Thank you Kobe.J

Welcome to the 2017 MLB playoffs.

As I’m watching the Yankees and Twins wild card playoff game I’m realizing it’s about to get real. Here we go again. Never know how the mlb playoffs will end. I do know that the Dodgers have not won since a month after I turned 12. Don’t worry, I know im lucky. Many have never seen their team win a World Series. Cubs fans died just moments before they won their championship, after 108 years with no title. My Dodgers have only gone 29 years. Cub’s fans went almost four times that!

This isn’t about just the Dodgers though. Nothing is guaranteed at all! Dodgers have a great chance but so do all of the other teams. The defending champion Cubs, who beat the Dodgers in the playoffs last year are there! Yes, haven’t forgot about them. The Nationals are another ridiculous team in the National league. In the American league the Cleveland Indians are in a league of their own. In my opinion, they are the best team overall. Completely scared of the Indians.

I vividly remember this same moment last year and thinking the teams the Dodgers had to beat were good, but not this good. Aaron Judge just hit a home run to put the Yankees up 7-4. I love the Yankees history but don’t want them to be the future. Good thing is their pitching is not very good. Just being honest. But, their lineup is ridiculous. Really Yankees? Where did you find Judge and Sanchez? Come on Dodgers!? Let’s do this!
